Hello friends and followers of Gwaelod Pottery.
Now that I am full time pottering around I thought I would share my activities in the workshop studio with all who are interested in the craft. On this blog will bring to you my newest creations, ideas, thoughts and inspirations behind them. Many people love watching crafters going about their work and pottery is probably the oldest of them all! Vessels have been made for thousands of years and its likely that reed baskets that were lined with clay were discarded on the fire which in turn fired the clay hard and the ash from the fire gave a form of glaze and made them not only appealing but practical too as it made the pots water tight.
Perhaps I can write more about the origins in future blogs and also the techniques used to achieve various tasks.
Recently I have been busy creating boxes so that I can transport them around to various craft fayre’s and also use them for stall props and inventory control.
